A Treat For A Cinephile





If I will be ask what is my comfort food, I would definitely answer "siopao from Chowking" or "char siew asado pao from Orchard Road".. But if i will be ask for a comfort "activity", that would be watching movies! Best served on cinemas of course in 3D if there is.
Just recently, I received an email from SM Prestige ( I am a happy member! ) informing me to claim the free ePlus Card along with a complimentary movie pass. An ePlus Card regularly costs P300 when you purchase the starter kit ( regular movie pass, popcorn, drink and a premium item ). ePlus Card is SM Cinema's loyalty program that provides exclusive rewards, freebies, and special discounts to its members. Cardholders also get special discounts and perks from SM Cinema's partner establishments.
EPLUS stands for Entertainment: Privileges. Lifestyle. Upgrades. Surprises. Unlike any other loyalty cards, ePlus Card is reloadable and is accepted in all SM Cinema and Snacktime branches nationwide. It also gives the cardholder an easy access to buy a ticket since there is a designated express lane for ePlus Card members that you won't need to fall in line on a long queue. ePlus card also serves as an "access card" to any of the SM Cinema turnstile entrance.
I also got a free entry pass valid only on the second week of showing of any movie excluding IMAX, 3D, Director's Club and MMFF. Not bad at all, it costs P125-180 for a regular movie screening.

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES, a review

This is the fourth installment of The Pirates of the Caribbean movie series. As usual, Johnny played his humorous clever type of a pirate who loves adventures and mysteries. In this film, Jack Sparrow was joined by Angelica (Penelope Cruz) who was his imposter in search for the Fountain of Youth. Angelica is Jack's former lover who happens to be the daughter of the ruthless pirate Blackbeard. This man posseses several magical powers, including the ability to shrink other ships down to miniature size and contain them within bottles. Blackbeard forces Jack to join his crew and lead them to the Fountain to circumvent a prophecy that a one-legged man will soon kill Blackbeard. Meanwhile, Gibbs, who memorized, then destroyed Sparrow's map, joins Barbossa's crew in order to beat Blackbeard and the Spanish to the Fountain.
