im not a book lover, just like others who always read books such as novels, etch. im interested though, on informative books, like "how-to" books and other stuffs like that, even magazines. when my youngest daughter, who is still a baby, about 11 months old now, had her first hospital confinement at the tender age of 2 months, i get curious about health, specially the health of my family. it was really heart-crushing when an IV needle was inserted in the tiny vein of my little one. i became health conscious, so i bought a reference book on medicine, THE MERCK MANUAL. i was reading the book while watching after my baby inside her private room in The Medical City, when her pediatrician noticed the merck manual. he was very delighted to see me reading that, and he told me that he used to read it while he was still in college as his reference book. he even asked me if i am taking up a medical course, because im reading it. he was very glad that i bought it to enrich my knowledge

One of our favorite pastime, me and my hubby, is to watch hollywood movies.. Last sunday, we have watched the sci-fi flick, "surrogates" , directed by Jonathan Mostow. It was an adaptation of the novel, "The Surrogates" by Robert Venditti and Brett Weldele. Bruce Willis played the main role as a police detective, who then, was also using a surrogate, mainly to do his job for him.. Surrogates are robots that are remotely controlled by humans who largely remain closeted from real life. They are the more attractive versions of the individuals who operate them. The owner of a surrogate uses a modern remote controller, that commands their robotic surrogate through brain waves. They use it as their alter ego in doing everything they wanted without being harmed. It's as if they perfected a human-like robot. what i like about this movie is that, they have put a lot of emphasis on the idea of human physical perfection and what dilemma we might get while using it. when my hubby and i went to SM sta. rosa last week, we had our lunch at Mangan restaurant.. it was a simple resto that serves kapampangan dishes.. the interior of the resto is very simple, with a white and pastel green motiff.. the wall on both sides is full of white rounded plates, which i think was made of "lahar" from the land of pampanga. i just thought of it because, the volcanic ash remains, from the mt. pinatubo area were being used by the local manufacturers of plates as a raw material in their business.. going back to the food that they serve, they have their own version of "picnic", instead of fried potato strings, they serve fried camote strings as their appetizer. we were fortunate to experience the sugpo sa aligue, which was very tasteful, and flavorful, with a twist of wine in it. it only costs 107php, not bad for a single order. then we also tried their pinakbet, which was really good, at 90php per order. their garlic fried rice and java rice was grea

food, service, salary, sex, anything! have you ever been satisfied? well, it's depends on the given situation.. say, you've watched a movie. and that movie have not satisfied you in many ways.. like, the story itself, how the actors played their role, the special effects, the plot of the story, etc..  the question would be, can we be satisfied on anything that the satisfaction that we have felt just ended there? humans are born insatiable.. they always seek for the better. better food, better service, better salary, better sex! and why do you think is that?  maybe because of the things around us.. there are a lot of options and variety to choose from that makes us ask for more. sometimes, we tend to bend ourselves, even if it's beyond our means. and when it happens, the dilemma comes in. it applies on all aspects in life. and more often, it causes the life "stresses" that we experience everyday. even some of us were unaware that our stresses was brought by the fru

this is a late review of Peter Jackson's District 9. it's the latest movie i have watch, so.. sorry for that. but for those who have not seen it yet, read this. at the beginning of the story, you find yourself a little confused because of how the movie was presented. it looks like a documentary film, that tells about what happened when a space mothership of aliens trapped within the area of nigeria, if im not mistaken.. but it was still earth anyway. the whole story tackles about the struggle of one of the correspondents of an institution that deals with the aliens. and how he was infected by a certain fluid that the aliens brought. the effect, he became one of their kind. but the story, will not end there. there will be a sequel for district 9.. it is the district 10. so, better watch the first! 5 is the highest, i will rate 3.5 stars for district 9.

as far as i can remember, i was 15 when i had my first "boyfriend"... haha.. i was just second year high school. it was fun though, but i tend to hide it on my parents of course! but it did'nt lasts for a long time.. we only had 2 months.. whew! on the lighter side, it was kinda cool then, when you have "someone" during the highschool years.. someone who can carry your bag, books etc.. look after you, join you at the canteen, buy you cheap flowers, give you notes of thoughtfullness. yeah.. fun, and kilig. but i think it should end there.. i dont recommend teens to enter in a serious relationship too early.. they might do some wrong decisions in life that they may regret after.. just like me. but whatever decisions i made in the past, it is still a part of my present and my future.. meaning, i cannot change it anymore. it has happened. i just hope that teens right now, would have a good sense of judgement to be able to guide them in whatever decision they will co

What a great morning for everyone! it's been a hard week for me though but thank God that i've managed to survive. i was reading this book, "till debt do us part" by chinkee tan, and glad he made me feel lighter now.. i would really recommend this book to everyone specially nowadays, that recession is everywhere.. we need to manage our finances wisely to be able to survive the battlefield of the economic crisis. Furthermore, this book will bring you closer to God, and appreciate everything He did for us, and to know the real value of money and saving.
