NEW MOON, a review

Image
it's a late review on the new moon movie, but i was there on its opening day in cinema to watch with my hubby. well, twilight has been a big hit here in the philippines. most of its audiences are the teenies, who giggles for the love story of edward and bela. personally, i find the 2nd installment of twilight, which is the new moon a little cute. but it's like just an extender of the life struggles of the main characters of the story. a lot of teens appreciated the concept of the whole story, because it's part of their genre. in terms of the intellectual side, it does'nt challenged me at all. the context was so plain, that just became a little more exciting because of the vampire and wolf thing added to it that makes it twisted. cinematography wise, it's cool.. but the phasing of the story was quite slow, and tame. anyways, this movie is still a hit to the young giggling teens who looks at the concept of love in a subtle way. and oviously, there's another in

THE PERFECT MISTRESS

Image
this is from the blog entry of  Ruth Purple of  WOMEN'S HOME PAGE. i just like to share it with you.. Mistress - just the word itself imbibes negative impressions. Wives despise them and society looks down on them. Mistresses are associated with the word home wrecker with low morals. But if you really think about it, do they like being a mistress? Is that a choice they voluntarily choose or is it a written destiny? If there is such a thing as being "single-blessedness"- meaning people who are "blessed" or born to be single, is there such thing as "mistress-blessedness"? What kind of woman would chose to be a mistress in the first place? Being a mistress is never easy, so they say. You cannot demand and you constantly settling for stolen moments and attention. But since you are the other woman and everybody hates you, you might as well excel in what you do. And you'd better be good in keeping yourself anonymous or you will be forever obtaining the m

2012 MOVIE, a review

Image
i have'nt had much time to create a review on the 2012 movie for the past few days, although i have managed to watch it on the big screen last friday, during its opening day. i was just busy with a lot of things.. but i think it's not too late to post a review, right? well, i personally liked the movie because i really enjoyed all the scenes especially the "running away from the disaster" scenes which i feel like i'm in a roller coaster ride. on its opening day, the movie house of waltermart calamba was jampacked, and oviously all of the cinemas showing the movie 2012. even the center aisle of the theatre was filled with extra monoblock chairs to accomodate the moviegoers who were very excited to see the movie. everybody were shouting and yelling as if they were having a roller coaster ride, just like me. even after the 1st day of showing, that was saturday, all the malls that we've been visited had a long qeue on their theatres. most of the malls were show

FRIDAY THE 13TH

Image
it's friday the 13th! there's a scary stigma on this particular date among the fanatics of the "black world". some says. that friday the 13th is a significant day for witches, vampires and other elements related to those. because this day, they acquire and attain their powers on its best, and they become so powerful. friday the 13th occurs when the thirteenth day of a month falls on Friday, which superstition holds to be a day of good or bad luck. In the gregorian calendar, this day occurs at least once, but at most three times a year. Any month's 13th day will fall on a Friday if the month starts on a Sunday. In this year 2009, this applies to the months of february, march, and november. and the next instance of this appears on the calendar for the year 2015. hmm.. quite a long wait! wahahaha.. really scary.. but for others, it's a time to have fun and enjoy as if it's haloween! and to spook around with friends to share their "not so ordinary scary

FLAVORS OF CHINA RESTAURANT

Image
flavors of china, is one of the most promising chinese restaurant mostly found in malls, and other food places here. from the name itself, of course its main dishes are chinese foods. they have a big outlet branch in SM sta. rosa, and i find it intimidating, because they don't have many customers. because when we went there, it was lunch time and the place was not even half full. but still we had our lunch there, and ordered the honey glazed baby back ribs with wall nuts on top and sharksfin steamed dumpling as our viand. their appetizer is a bowl of chicharon, which reminds me of chicharap in chowking. what i love about what we ordered was the buko pandan sherbet, a refreshing buko shake with buko ice cream , in between a dose of pandan jelly. it was so creamy that became my consolation from the not so good taste of their honey glazed baby back ribs which i do not recommend to be eaten with rice . it was like, i was eating donut with my rice, which is not a good combinatio

ITALIANNI'S RESTAURANT

Image
i got this rare opportunity to dine at italianni's restaurant in nuvali, along tagaytay highway in sta. rosa laguna. it's a fine dine restaurant, that caters italian cuisine, a well-loved dish of filipinos. there were a lot of guests dining in, which i think mostly residents from villages nearby the place.   nuvali is a quiet and peaceful place to dine with friends and family, if you just want privacy and just enjoy the company of your group. italianni's has a very hospitable and friendly crew that will attend to your needs, a romantic table setting, and the food, are really mouth watering.   i fell in love with their stuffed mushroom. it is an oven roasted mushroom caps stuffed with sausage, fresh spinach, herbs and three italian cheeses in white sauce. it's very cheesy and appealing to look at. their seafood risotto, a platter combination of salmon, shrimp, calamari sauteed in white wine combined with arborio rice cooked in their homemade shrimp broth. their fruit sh

RIVERVIEW RESORT

Image
one of the most convenient public swimming pool resort in calamba is the riverview resort and conference center. it is has also function rooms for business meetings and also convertible to company conferences. during weekdays, it is more convenient to go here because it's as if you're just renting the place privately. they have slides for the kids and for the adults as well. and what i like about riverview is their big pools both for adults and kids. it's kiddie pool is about 3 feet high, and is safe for the kiddo's to play and enjoy the water. it's water is kinda cold, because it does'nt come from a hot spring just like in other resorts in pansol, laguna. location wise, riverview is more accessible than other resorts from the mt. makiling area.. when you just want to have fun and enjoy swimming with your family and friends, riverview would be a good choice..
