HARRY POTTER and The Deathly Hallows Part 1, a review

Image
The last 2-part Harry Potter movie, The Deathly Hallows... We were fortunate to watched it last weekend on IMAX at SM Mall of Asia. As expected, the huge fans of HP were there to join the mania.. The three HP stars were all grown-ups and made me realize how long this movie was stretching back in 2001. It's been 9 years since Harry Potter and his friends started their Wizardry. To summarize, this Part 1 of The Deathly Hallows HP sequel is not really as exciting as expected.. i have found it boring on some scenes, but i guess it's part of the story because it's not yet finished. There were a lot of revelations along the way, but still left a lot of mysteries for those who have'nt read the book, (like i do..) The thrill and excitement will be hanged for a long time until the final cut will be shown on July of next year..

UNSTOPPABLE, a review

This is  a long overdue movie review, but anyway i'll still blog this thing out. Unstoppable is an action-thriller movie, starring Denzel Washington and Chris Pine.. This story tells about the runaway train, which coincidentally tried to stopped by the two locomotive personnels, Frank (played by Washington), a veteran locomotive engineer and Will (played by Pine), a young train conductor. The runaway train is not just an ordinary passenger train, but a cargo train that carries tons of fuel and other hazardous chemicals which will cause a great damage in the city as it takes a turn on a huge fuel tanks. Frank and Will happens to be on the same railway that made them to decide to help out in stopping the "unstoppable train". The climax of the story was the whole action adventure that these people have gone through and how they risked their lives for the welfare and safety of the people that will be affected by a destructible explosion that it may create. It was a fair mov

MANILA OCEAN PARK VISIT

Image
Well.. My youngest daughter, Venice turned 2 last Thursday. So as our birthday treat to her, our family decided to go for a kiddie adventure. Our destination? Manila Ocean Park. This was our first time to visit the place, so everyone's excited even us, parents.. We arrived 15 minutes earlier, just in time for the opening of the theme park. We took some pictures on the entrance and bought their 500 peso per head promo package ticket. It includes 4 attractions to visit, the Oceanarium, Dancing Jelly Fish, Marine Life and The Sea Lion Show. Before we start the attraction hopping, we had our early lunch at Northpark, had 2 roasted chicken, Canton noodles, Fried shrimp in sweet and sour sauce, java rice and a tower of iced tea. After our delicious brunch, we stroll around the mall inside the Ocean Park to check on some stores and souvenir shops. The kids were able to buy two Dora umbrellas! Then we headed to The Sea Lion Show, where the two Sea Lions from the US, Vincent and Isabelle sh

The Social Network, a review

Facebook movie, that's what most people call it. It's all about Mark Zuckerbeg, Founder and CEO of Facebook who created the biggest social networking site of this genre, and also changed the style and ways of "online friendship". On the first phase of the story, i find it a little bit boring to watch, but because it's a biography, what do we expect, right? The story talks about who was Mark before he invented Facebook. All his frustrations in his relationships made him create "facemash" which was the origin of Facebook. He was just a genius and clever that he didnt realize, he's making a few enemies along the way. I wont spoil the whole story, but if you already read about his life story, you wont be interested watching this movie, anyway. There's just some humors that made the other scenes quite funny to watch. If you're a Facebook fan, you might try to watch Mark Zuckerberg's biography. Being a geek can make you a real billionaire, bu
